Axis Mountain Technical Inc. is seeking  Rope Access Technician Trainee for our Terrace location. It’s a full-time, permanent position (14-21 days a month) to start as soon as possible. Rate: $26.00-28.00 per hr depending on experience and certifications.


As a Rope Access Technician Trainee/Apprentice,  you will be expected to perform the following duties:

  • Utilize ropes and rope access techniques to gain hard-to reach areas without scaffold or a work platform

  • Descend, ascend, and traverse ropes for access and work while suspended by harness

  • Perform duties such as inspections, tower work, metal work, form work, high angle installations, snow and ice removal, and other kinds of work at heights

  • Perform repair/maintenance activities in the high angle environment and in high angle sites exposed to mountain hazards

  • Participant in daily job site hazard assessments and pre-work safety meetings

  • Communicate effectively with team member and managers to maintain consistent workflow and customer satisfaction

  • Follow established safety rules and industry standards at all times.


  • Must be able to provide at least two professional references

  • Must be willing to travel to Terrace, BC and other areas

  • Must be able to speak, read and write in English

  • Must have good communication, problem solving, decision making and organization skills

  • Must be able to work while suspended in harness for extended periods of time

  • Must have good strength-to-weight ratio and good cardiovascular fitness

  • Must be capable of functioning in climatic extremes such as heat, wind, cold, snow and rain

  • Must have healthy joints and full-function of extremities

  • Must be able to work flexible hours and weekends

  • Must be willing to travel to remote work sites for 2-3 weeks at a time

  • Rock Blasting ticket or experience preferred

  • OFA Level 3 First Aid ticket an asset

  • Carpenters and Electricians or other trade qualifications preferred

  • Must be able to maintain a successful 12 panel drug screening
