We are looking for a Senior Shutdown Planner to We are looking for Senior Shutdown Planner – to plan and schedule the activities of our shutdown support maintenance crew (multi trade). The planner’s main focus is to integrate the scheduling of their shutdown maintenance team with area maintenance team for daily shutdowns throughout BC Works Aluminium smelter. Lead planning and scheduling of all yearly major shutdowns.

This role is a great opportunity This role is a great opportunity to be accountable for the efficient planning, estimating and scheduling of all maintenance work for the shutdown support crew. Working a 7.5 hour day, Monday to Friday 37.5 hour week you will be: Working Monday to Friday and reporting to the Interim Maintenance Superintendent, you will be:
Improving productivity of people, equipment and work quality by eliminating potential delays and obstacles to efficient work execution.
Responsible for maintenance work by producing weekly maintenance schedules which are practical with all of the resources identified with accurate estimates and all necessary materials.
Ensuring safety needs are given a top priority in work planning. Ensuring shutdown crew activities are incorporated in the shutdown schedule respecting the critical path and deadlines.
Recommending system and design changes to improve the processes.
Leading follow-up meetings to capture learnings from the workforce to capture improvements in daily and annual shutdowns.
Applying shutdown management best practices and participate in defect elimination process
What you will need for this role
To succeed in this role, you will have:
Preferred Red Seal Trades or Mechanical or Electrical Technical Diploma
Demonstrated in depth planning and scheduling knowledge using a CMMS system – SAP preferred
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar industrial setting, mining, processing, manufacturing or related setting
Strong leadership skills
Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
Proficiency in English
