We are looking for Shutdown Supervisor to lead and develop a high performing maintenance team whilst fostering a strong safety culture and building capabilities. This includes supervision of all shutdown personnel and accountability for all their resources. Main focus is to integrate his maintenance team with area maintenance team for daily shutdowns throughout BC Works Aluminium smelter.
What the role entails
This role is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to drive and optimize operational performance in a fast-paced work environment. Working a 10 hour day, Tuesday to Friday 40 hour week (4 days on, 3 days off), you will be:
Communicating and coordinating with peers the appropriate winning conditions, expectations, and targets for shutdown execution.
Ensuring roles and responsibilities are clearly understood and setting performance targets to encourage the necessary/desired behaviors.
Taking ownership over efficient/effective problem solving, decision making, and action at the right levels
Participating in the continuous improvement of standards, policies and procedures relating daily and annual shutdowns throughout BC Works.
Ensuring shutdown activities are completed safely and meeting the shutdown schedule respecting the critical path and deadlines.
What you will need for this role
To succeed in this role, you will have:
Technologist Degree, Engineering Degree (Mining or other relevant discipline) or High school diploma combined with solid experience or Red Seal Trades certification
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar industrial setting, mining, processing, manufacturing or related setting
Minimum of 2 years Supervisory experience in unionized environment
Strong leadership skills
Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
Proficiency in English
